Janice was born in Wales, the land of song and music. She says that this homeland is the place she found her love of music. It was in the very air she breathed.
After graduating with a B.Mus. (Hons) from the University of North Wales, Bangor, Wales, she completed a postgraduate Harp Performance Course and obtained her L.T.C.L. at the Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff. Janice went on to win the Harp Competition at the prestigious Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales.
In recognition of Janice’s musical gifts, she was admitted as a bard in her home country, Wales. Her Bardic name is "Telynores Dwyfor" which translates as "The Harpist of Two Seas”. This name took on profound significance when she made Australia her new home while maintaining strong links with her Welsh homeland.
Janice has earned both a national and an international musical reputation through her performances in various symphony orchestras in Australia and the UK and the demands for her gifts and skills have taken her to many unique destinations both in Australia and abroad. Janice has performed for Royalty, Prime Ministers, the Queensland Governor and the Governor of Australia.
Janice has played with the Queensland Pops Orchestra for many years. She has been employed as the resident harpist at Stamford Plaza Hotel and Sheraton Hotel, Brisbane. Janice is a signed ABC Classics artist and has released 3 albums on the ABC Classics label with her trio, Carisma.
